Sharpe Pritchard rises through the ranks in Chambers & Partners 2026 Guide

Sharpe Pritchard has once again strengthened its position as one of the UK’s leading public law firms, with recognition in the latest Chambers & Partners 2026 Guide across a wide range of practice areas and individual specialisms.

This year’s results see the firm both maintain its position as a top ranked Band 1 firm for both Electoral Law and Parliamentary Agency, whilst also rising through the rankings, with Administrative & Public Law now ranked in Band 2.

Success in each of these areas reflects Sharpe Pritchard’s sustained growth, deep expertise and its trusted position as an adviser to public bodies, utilities and commercial clients engaged in complex, high-value projects.

Reflecting on this year’s success, Managing Partner Timothy Farr, said: “This year’s Chambers & Partners results are a fantastic reflection of the dedication and quality of our teams.

“To see departments move upwards, while maintaining our high rankings across public law, infrastructure and Parliamentary work, is testament to our people’s expertise and the trust our clients place in us. It’s a proud moment for everyone at Sharpe Pritchard.”

The 2026 edition also marks an impressive year for individual recognition, with Jonathan Blunden and George McLellan both earning new rankings in Administrative & Public Law and Emily Knowles joining the directory for the first time in Planning. Nicola Sumner has also been ranked for the first time in the guide for Public Procurement.

These new entries highlight the firm’s depth of talent and the next generation of specialists stepping forward within its established teams.

The firm’s experts continue to demonstrate its market-leading credentials. Emyr Thomas and Alastair Lewis have once again been ranked in Band 1 for Parliamentary Agency and Emyr holds his Band 1 ranking for Electoral Law.

Meanwhile, Steve Gummer continues to hold his Band 1 UK-wide ranking for Energy & Natural Resources: Water, underscoring Sharpe Pritchard’s strength in the regulated utilities and infrastructure sectors.

Senior Partner Justin Mendelle added: “Our growth in the Chambers & Partners Guide reflects both the consistency and the evolution of the firm.

“We’re proud to see new names joining those who have been recognised for many years, demonstrating that the next generation of Sharpe Pritchard lawyers is already establishing a strong reputation.”

The Chambers & Partners Guide remains one of the most respected legal directories in the UK, basing its rankings on extensive client interviews and independent research.

A significant number of Sharpe Pritchard lawyers are ranked individually in this year’s guide, alongside the firm’s recognition across numerous practice areas, which is a reflection of the breadth of expertise and the calibre of its teams.
