Sydney is a junior associate in the Construction Team and primarily focuses on non-contentious construction matters. She regularly drafts standard-form construction contracts, including NEC and JCT forms. She additionally advises on consultant appointments, pre-construction services agreements and ancillary documents.

Sydney is also familiar with procurement law and has worked on numerous public procurement projects advising clients on various aspects of the Public Procurement Regulations 2015, and is preparing for the upcoming implementation of the Procurement Act 2023.

  • The review and preparation of pre-tender documentation including ITT, call-off services contract and construction contracts (JCT and NEC forms) in relation to a mini competition under the Re:fit Framework (decarbonisation of local authority buildings).
  • Contract formalisation: Sydney regularly works on post tender formalisation contracts based on the JCT suite for various London Boroughs.
  • Sydney has experience advising on a two-stage construction procurement, including the conclusion of a pre-construction services agreement based on a bespoke agreement and assisting with advice and negotiation of a JCT Design and Build Contract 2016.
  • Sydney regularly prepares and advises on letters of intent in respect of construction projects.
