Robert Prater


Rob is an Associate in the Technology and Data Team at Sharpe Pritchard. Rob is a commercial solicitor and a specialist in Public Procurement law and State aid.

Rob has considerable experience delivering complex and high value procurement projects including outsourcing, IT infrastructure and development projects. He frequently advises clients on procurement strategy, drafts tender documentation at the key stages of the procurement, as well as dealing with ad hoc queries that arise during the course of the procurement.

Rob also has experience advising contracting authorities successfully defend legal challenges to procurement decisions as well as advising suppliers seeking to dispute the outcome of a procurement process.

Rob also has considerable practical experience advising on State aid issues for a wide range of transactions. His experience includes structuring public grant funding in order to comply with State aid regulations, identifying State aid solutions for the delivery of research and development projects and advising on the sale of public assets on a 'no-aid' basis.
