Sharpe Pritchard has once again been recognised as a market leader in the newly published 2026 Legal 500 rankings, with the leading public law firm climbing the tables in several important practice areas to claim top spots.
The firm has retained its prestigious Tier 1 positions in Electoral, Infrastructure (Parliamentary) and Local Government, reaffirming its long-standing reputation as a trusted adviser in public sector law.
Alongside these successes, the rankings also highlight significant upward movement in several areas.
Planning has risen from Tier 3 to Tier 2, Construction (contentious) has moved up from Tier 5 to Tier 4 and Administrative and Public Law has advanced from Tier 5 to Tier 4.
Sharpe Pritchard has also been newly recognised for its growing expertise in Commercial Property: Development, ranked in Tier 4.
These achievements build on consistently strong performances across a number of other areas, with continued recognition for the firm’s work in Infrastructure: Project Finance and Development, Water, Education: Schools, and Construction (non-contentious).
Individual excellence has also been celebrated in this year’s guide. Alastair Lewis retains his position in the Hall of Fame for Parliamentary Infrastructure, joined this year by Nicola Sumner, recognised for her expertise in Project Finance and Development.
Roseanne Serrelli is once again named a Leading Partner for Local Government, while Emyr Thomas is recognised in both Electoral and Parliamentary Infrastructure.
Rising talent is also represented, with Rachel Murray-Smith acknowledged as a Next Generation Partner once again for her work in non-contentious construction.
Reflecting on the results, Timothy Farr, Managing Partner at Sharpe Pritchard, said:
“These results are a fantastic endorsement of the talent, dedication and hard work of our teams across the firm.
“Retaining our Tier 1 rankings and achieving promotions in multiple practice areas demonstrates the breadth and depth of our expertise and the trust placed in us by our clients.
Justin Mendelle, Sharpe Pritchard’s Senior Partner, added: “We are especially proud to see so many of our partners recognised individually, reflecting their significant contribution to both our clients and the wider sector.
“These rankings reinforce our reputation as a leading adviser to public bodies, developers and organisations undertaking some of the most important projects in the UK.”
While the firm did not secure a ranking in Renewables this year, this remains a developing focus area where recognition is expected in future editions.
With these latest results, Sharpe Pritchard continues to strengthen its position as one of the UK’s leading public law and infrastructure firms, recognised for its expertise, its client service, and its role in delivering projects that make a real impact across the country.
