Facilities management

Sharpe Pritchard’s solicitors are experienced in advising both the purchasers and suppliers of facilities management services.

We provide legal advice to a wide range of public sector bodies including local authorities, schools, housing associations and emergency services on every stage of outsourcing their facilities management requirements.  We have particular expertise in shared service arrangements.

We also work with companies who are bidding for facilities management contracts.

Our experienced lawyers understand the importance of connecting the law with your commercial considerations.  The services we offer go further than those that are usually expected from solicitors and include:

Strategic consultancy

We can review your current FM arrangements and benchmark these against best practice.  Where appropriate, we can suggest alternative strategies.

Procurement of facilities management services

We have extensive experience of the procurement of the full suite of hard and soft FM service contracts for contracting authorities and providers. This can include:

  • advising on structure of procurement;
  • publishing OJEU notices;
  • PQQ;
  • tender documents;
  • advising on commercial position.

Advice on bidding for FM contacts

We understand the market and can advise on legal and commercial positions.

Mid-contract reviews

Our involvement in a mid-contract review can offer a number of potential benefits in terms of improvements in service levels, introduction of innovation, and potential savings.

Dispute resolution

In the event of a dispute over a facilities management contract, our colleagues in the Sharpe Pritchard litigation team can offer a range of dispute resolution alternatives.

We have used our experience as lawyers to draft a bespoke FM project agreement for the industry. This form of contract is known by the market and its use ensures swift progress is made in a project.
