Joe is a litigation and dispute resolution lawyer, with particular expertise in disputes relating to real estate and planning, public law and commercial issues.

Joe has Higher Rights of Audience (Civil) and has acted for a wide spectrum of clients including public bodies, multinational companies, and high net worth individuals.

Joe’s role:

Joe’s practice includes the full ambit of property disputes, relating to both commercial and residential properties, including possession claims, lease renewals, boundary disputes, and breaches of covenants.

He is also regularly instructed in contentious planning matters, in particular applications for injunctions to restrain breaches of planning control under section 187B Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and claims relating to breaches of section 106 agreements.

His injunction work also extends to seeking injunctive relief in relation to unlawful protests, including cases with national press coverage.

Additionally, Joe advises on public law matters such as high-profile public inquiries, as well as undertaking general commercial litigation.

Joe routinely litigates in the High Court and has conducted cases up to the Court of Appeal. He engages in alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation and arbitration.

Skills and strengths:

Joe is very dedicated and provides practical advice with an unswerving focus on his client’s aims and objectives. He builds strong relationships with clients, and this is reflected in repeat business from many of them.

Joe has been superb throughout our interaction and has been available to answer questions as needed and has even proactively chased the key dates to see if he could assist us further. Joe quickly grasped the situation and understood the urgency that was needed. He’s helped us achieve the outcome we wanted with a very important and high-profile matter, and all with the minimum of fuss and a very quick turnaround time. We couldn’t be happier with the service we’ve received from Sharpe Pritchard, and this is down to Joe. He’s a credit to your team.
