Helen works collaboratively with clients to assess their requirements and to offer practical and commercially-minded advice to help them achieve their aims. She works diligently to assist clients in breaking down and resolving complex legal problems efficiently and within required timeframes.
Helen has considerable experience assisting clients with a range of non-contentious construction matters. She regularly drafts standard form construction contracts (including those from the JCT and NEC suites) together with their associated ancillary documentation as well as forms of consultant appointment. Helen also advises clients on all aspects of contract interpretation and assists in drafting bespoke amendments, helping clients find innovative and pragmatic solutions to satisfy their individual requirements both generally and on a project specific basis.
Case highlights
- Assisting in the preparation of a set of standard amendments to the JCT 2016 suite of documents for a Russell Group University and preparing associated training materials and ongoing support to their team as the contracts were put into use.
- Advising a housing service provider in connection with the procurement approach for two multi-lot works programmes, one for major works and one for responsive repairs. This involved working to extremely tight timescales and necessitated drafting the associated documentation including a framework agreement, multiple JCT 2016 Measured Term Contracts and an overarching collaboration agreement.
- Assisting the Regeneration Team of a London Borough with contract negotiations and finalisation of the documentation for a multi-million pound regeneration scheme.
- Drafting and negotiating a full set of construction documents for a high value retail park redevelopment for a property investment fund and assisting with the construction elements of the associated lettings.
- Advising an international healthcare and communications group on their high value office fit-out in central London.
