Dawn Baker-Cox

Senior Parliamentary Clerk

Dawn specialises in parliamentary work and advises clients in local government and central government.

As a parliamentary clerk, Dawn fulfils important roles in promoting primary and secondary legislation. In relation to private bill promotions, Dawn carries out much of the work that is required to ensure that all the relevant standing orders of Parliament are complied with. This ranges from drafting minor amendments and preparing documentation to liaising with the House authorities on a regular basis.

In relation to the Transport and Works Act and harbour orders, Dawn is involved in preparing all the relevant documents required by the rules, in particular the plans and sections that accompany works orders.

Dawn carries out the firm’s daily parliamentary monitoring service for a number of clients. This requires sending out timely tailor made reports on what has happened in Parliament the day before and what is coming up.

She is also a member and Honorary Secretary of the Parliamentary Clerks’ Society.
