Chloé McQuillan is an Associate in Sharpe Pritchard’s dispute resolution team. She advises public bodies, not‑for‑profit organisations and private sector clients across a broad range of contentious and advisory public law matters.

Chloé’s role:

Before joining Sharpe Pritchard, Chloé trained at Broadfield UK (formerly BDB Pitmans), where she worked on a number of complex commercial and public law disputes. She subsequently served as Judicial Assistant to Lord Richards of Camberwell at the UK Supreme Court, supporting him in over 35 appeal hearings, including several high‑profile public law cases.

At Sharpe Pritchard, Chloé regularly advises UK government departments and other public bodies on civil disputes, including high-value contractual claims. She has played an integral role in large-scale document disclosure exercises and the preparation of complex witness statements, coordinating closely with clients, stakeholders and counsel to meet demanding court timetables.

Chloé also advises public and private sector clients on the merits of bringing or defending judicial review proceedings, including issues of strategy, procedure, standing and costs. In a recent case, she acted on behalf of a not-for-profit organisation to draft substantive pre-action correspondence challenging a decision of a public body, advising on litigation strategy and successfully securing an outcome that aligned with her client’s objectives.

In addition, Chloé has acted in procurement disputes for both public authorities and commercial clients, and has experience bringing applications to lift automatic suspensions.

Skills and behaviours:

Chloé is recognised for her attention to detail, clear drafting and ability to distil complex issues into concise and practical advice. She is valued for her approachable manner and strong communication skills, working closely with clients to understand their objectives and deliver effective, proportionate solutions.
