Legal expertise and professional experience

Chantelle is experienced in drafting different forms of commercial contracts within varied service areas for local governments, including bespoke agreements for goods, works and services and has worked on procurement challenges under the PCR 2015.

Alongside Chantelle’s experience with public procurement and contract drafting and negotiating, she has assisted with updating Councils’ contract standing orders and general schemes of delegations in line with legislative updates.  She has also advised clients on loans and grant agreements and the effects of the UK’s Subsidy Control Rules.

Your role

Chantelle advises and assists with drafting various forms of commercial contracts, including  IT and concession contracts, alongside providing advice on the full life cycle of a public procurement. This involves supporting clients with planning their strategy, defining the requirements, procuring the goods, works and services, providing support during the tender process with answering clarifications and responding to complaints from unsuccessful tenderers during standstill periods. Chantelle is also involved with seeing contracts through to execution and any subsequent modifications of public contracts post award.

Skills and behaviours

Chantelle takes a risk-based, but pragmatic approach to ensure her clients have a thorough understanding of their matters. Having worked in local government for several years, means that Chantelle has a deep understanding of financial and governance constraints which need to be factored into project timelines.
