Sharpe Pritchard LLP has achieved science-based target validation, supported by sustainability partner 51toCarbonZero, marking a significant step in the firm’s journey to net zero.
As part of its commitment to creating long-term value for its people, clients and communities, the firm has taken significant steps to understand, measure and reduce its environmental impact.
Working with 51toCarbonZero, Sharpe Pritchard completed a comprehensive assessment of its greenhouse gas emissions across all applicable Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 categories, in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and Science Based Targets initiative requirements.
The firm has joined more than 5,000 organisations globally in setting a science-based target aligned to limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Its target has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, the leading global framework helping businesses reduce emissions in line with climate science.
Sharpe Pritchard’s 2024/25 carbon footprint assessment demonstrates strong operational performance, with zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions maintained through its use of renewable electricity and the absence of direct fossil fuel consumption within its operations.
Like many professional services organisations, the majority of the firm’s emissions arise from its wider value chain, with Purchased Goods and Services and Employee Commuting and Homeworking identified as the most significant contributors.
These commitments support global efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C and reflect the firm’s ambition to play a meaningful role in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Measuring its footprint is only the beginning.
