Sharpe Pritchard’s Journey to Net Zero

At Sharpe Pritchard, we believe that responsible business means taking meaningful action to address climate change. As part of our commitment to creating long-term value for our people, clients and communities, we have taken significant steps to understand, measure and reduce our environmental impact.

Working with leading carbon specialists 51toCarbonZero, we have completed a comprehensive assessment of our greenhouse gas emissions across all applicable Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 categories in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) requirements.

We have joined more than 5,000 organisations globally in setting a science-based target aligned to limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

Our target has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, the leading global framework helping businesses reduce emissions in line with climate science.

To develop and validate our approach, we worked with 51toCarbonZero, a leading carbon accounting and advisory platform that supports organisations to measure, manage and reduce their emissions across all operational scopes.

Our Carbon Footprint

Our 2024/25 carbon footprint assessment demonstrates strong operational performance, with zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions maintained through our use of renewable electricity and the absence of direct fossil fuel consumption within our operations.

Like many professional service organisations, the majority of our emissions arise from our wider value chain. The assessment identified Purchased Goods and Services and Employee Commuting and Homeworking as the most significant contributors to our carbon footprint, providing a clear focus for future reduction activities.

Science-Based Targets and Net Zero

In line with our commitment to climate action, Sharpe Pritchard has adopted a science-based approach to emissions reduction.

Our commitments include:

• Maintaining zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
• Measuring and reducing Scope 3 emissions across our value chain.
• Achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
• Reducing overall emissions by 90% by 2040 from our 2025 baseline year, with any residual emissions addressed through recognised carbon removal solutions.

These commitments support global efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C and reflect our ambition to play a meaningful role in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Turning Data into Action

Measuring our footprint is only the beginning. The insights gained through our carbon assessment are helping us focus our efforts where we can have the greatest impact.

• Engaging suppliers on carbon reporting and science-based targets.

• Encouraging greater uptake of renewable energy and sustainable behaviours.
