What does it mean to be a Certified B Corporation?
Certified B Corporations, known as B Corps, are organisations that meet independently verified standards across governance, workers, community, environment and customers. To achieve certification, organisations must obtain a minimum verified score and commit to continuous improvement.
B Corp certification is designed to demonstrate that an organisation is serious about balancing purpose and performance. It provides a structured framework for measuring impact, improving policies and practices, and reporting with greater transparency.
Why this matters to our clients and suppliers
Our clients, particularly in the public sector, increasingly require demonstrable evidence of responsible business practice. B Corp certification provides an independently recognised benchmark that supports procurement requirements, social value commitments and broader ESG expectations.
For our suppliers and partners, it signals that we are committed to doing business responsibly, including how we work with our supply chain, how we operate day to day and how we make decisions.
Our score and what it reflects
We achieved a B Impact Assessment score of 122.5.
This score significantly exceeds the certification threshold of 80 points, recognising the strength of our approach across governance, people, community and environmental impact.
It reflects the work we have put into strengthening our governance procedures, supporting our people, contributing to our communities, and managing and reducing our environmental impact.
For our clients, this provides independent assurance that our commitment to public value extends beyond the legal services we provide. It reflects the way we operate as a firm, aligning closely with the priorities of many public sector organisations, including transparency, social value and responsible business practices.
Our score of 122.5 reflects a strong performance across all areas of the assessment.
A long-term commitment, not a one-off announcement
B Corp certification is not a final destination. It is a commitment to maintaining high standards and improving them over time, using a recognised framework to keep us accountable.
As part of our wider responsible business work, the firm’s Responsible Business Committee oversees areas including wellbeing, EDI, CSR, sustainability, social value and alignment with B Corp standards.
This certification also sits alongside our broader Sustainability and Net Zero programme, which has been a structured focus area for the firm.
