Academies: Transfer of contracts

Your school may benefit from contracts which are let by the local authority (e.g. software licences, cleaning services, construction works). These contracts do not automatically transfer over to the academy, so if the school want to keep some of the contracts, it will be important to carry out an audit of all contracts, so that the relevant contracts can be listed in the CTA.

As a publicly funded independent school, an academy will fall within the scope of the public procurement rules as set out in the Public Contract Regulations 2006. The School must consider whether any replacement or additional services should be put out to public tender.

Please email us for a copy of our straightforward guide to public procurement law, or contact a member of our highly experienced academies team for further information on public procurement.
