Projects
Our nationally recognised Projects team is headed by Stephen Millen and comprises six partners, 16 fee earners and a support staff which includes a dedicated professional support lawyer.
The other partners in the team are Ros Serrelli, Julia Rudin, Jo Pickering, Nicky Sumner and Paul O'Sullivan. All the Projects partners have extensive experience in the field of contracts and procurement.
The team provides a comprehensive and flexible service including related areas such as employment, property, construction and planning advice. All members of the team commit themselves to projects from start to finish to ensure that the client is supported throughout.
In addition to its expertise and technical know-how, the team prides itself on its professional and friendly approach. It is frequently invited to join evaluation and negotiation teams by clients who have come to view Sharpe Pritchard's advice as core to their own success.
We have developed a number of longer-term partnerships with clients, including county councils, city councils and London Borough councils, to provide contract, commercial, procurement, property and project advice. These arrangements can involve members of the team spending part of their working week in the clients' offices.
Some of our current or recently closed projects include -
- a significant proportion of the waste management PFI projects currently in procurement nationally
- two local authority customer services initiative projects involving the outsourcing of a large number of the authorities' activities
- joint social services and health authority projects including the first such project to be awarded credits by the DETR and DoH
- school and community learning PFIs
- a regeneration and development project for a Housing Action Trust
- a procurement exercise for the provision of highways, bridges and structures and street lighting management, maintenance, improvement and projects
- one of the UK's largest housing management outsourcing projects.
