Sharpe Pritchard launches innovative App for academy CTAs
Sharpe Pritchard has launched an innovative Commercial Transfer Agreement (CTA) App. The App, which can be accessed by clicking here, is intended to help trustees and governing bodies save both time and money when producing academy CTAs.
“We know that schools and local authorities are under pressure to do more with less – so we’ve used our extensive experience in this market to create this easy-to-use App for academy commercial transfer agreements,” says Annie Moy, lead partner responsible for academy projects at Sharpe Pritchard.
Currently, schools looking to produce a CTA tailored to meet the needs of their particular academy, usually have to consult a solicitor to draw up a legally valid CTA – which can eat into their budget and take precious time. Alternatively, they can download the Department of Education template, which is very often not flexible enough for their particular situation or, more importantly, may result in a document which does not offer full protection.
“Our CTA App offers the best of both worlds,” says Annie Moy. “It uses sophisticated software – which is fully compliant with PCs, Macs, tablet devices and smartphones – and guides people through an easy-to-follow process. The result is a legally valid CTA, which is tailored to an academy’s own circumstances.”
Sharpe Pritchard can provide expert advice on all the legal issues arising from setting up and operating a new academy or free school. This includes governance, the transfer of assets and land, employment, TUPE and pensions issues and advice on the full range of contracts relating to the operation of a school and school building programmes, including PFI arrangements.
“When a client has produced a CTA using our App, our team of education, property and employment law experts are on hand to provide any advice and assistance they might require,” adds Annie.
