Two major wins for Sharpe Pritchard’s waste team
Sharpe Pritchard have recently been appointed to act for the public sector in connection with 2 more waste PFIs.
Last month a team headed by Roseanne Serrelli was appointed by Essex County Council to act as independent legal advisors for all 12 waste collection authorities in Essex. The team is now working with officers and members across the county in connection with the inter-authority agreements.
In December, Nicola Sumner’s team was appointed by Hertfordshire County Council to advise on its residual waste treatment PFI project. The County Council has submitted its OBC to Defra for £112m in PFI credits and expects to go to the market in April 2009.
These appointments mean that the firm is now advising local government in relation to 9 major waste projects and confirms Sharpe Pritchard’s position as one of the leading law firms advising the public sector on waste PFI/PPP.
Lynne Girard who is working with Ros and Nicky on both projects said “We are really delighted to have expanded our practice still further in this area and we are already enjoying working closely with Herts’ and Essex’s teams.”
